ADCENG liquified petroleum gas cylinder refilling units are designed to enable distributors, dealers and retailers of LP gas to refill all gas cylinder quickly, accurately and safely to SABS requirements. The ADCENG range consists of five models:
BUSHFIL Model 301 D is the basic unit for application where no electricity supply is available. It is a simple, rugged but effective hand-operated double acting pump. For use in rural areas subject to approval of the approving authority concerned.
BUSHFIL Model 301-DH-SP is the basic hand-operated unit but fitted with a scale for accurate filling. Complying with the requirements of SANS 10087-7, this unit is suitable for filling cylinders up to 9,0 kg capacity.
POWERFIL Model DE-401-GB-MAN is identical to Model DE-401-GB-AUTO but supplied complete with a platform scale for manually controlled filling.
POWERFIL Model DE-401-GB-AUTO is identical to the Model DE-401-GB-MAN but features additional automatic shut-off facilities. This unit is fitted with an intrinsically safe proximity sensor to SANS 549-1987 as well as a flameproof control module certified by the SABS test house to SANS 65079 part 0 and 1.
SMITH Model EGBP-1-SP-AUTO This unit is baseplate mounted with a 300 kg platform scale suitable for filling cylinders up to 48kg capacity and features automatic shut-off facilities when cylinders are full. The unit comes with an intrinsically safe proximity sensor to SANS 549-1987 and flameproof control module certified by the SABS test house to SANS 65079 part 0 and 1. Electronic scales with LED read-outs are optional. The load cell activated electronic scale with digital readout is SABS approved and is optional on the Smith Model EGBP-1-SP AUTO pump.
The electronic scale is of robust construction to withstand the weighing and filling of steel containers under working conditions. The scale has been specially prepared for filling gas containers. It will ensure the filling of these small containers to within a close margin of the allowable filling mass, provided that the filling operation is carried out by a properly trained person. The electronic control panel is available for direct mounting to the pump stand or alternatively for remote mounting.
As an optional extra, a ticket printer can be provided. This unit can also be linked to a PC with an RS232 card.
The electric piston pump has been developed with a view to overcoming the problems usually encountered with high revving centrifugal gear or vane pumps when they are used for the filling of small containers from upright 48 kg LPG supply containers. This pump is able to cope with vapour locks which are encountered in this type of operation and will not be damaged when run dry for a short period of time, e.g. when the supply container is empty. This is achieved by the use of a special type of piston fitted with U Type piston seal manufactured from a polycarbon type material operating in a cylinder. The pump is also equipped with an internal bypass for filling containers that have a restricted inlet orifice. This is set to open at a differential pressure of 80 psi (550 kPa) and should not be altered otherwise permanent damage to the pump might arise.
The electric motor supplied with this pump is a flameproof type to SANS 314-1971 suitable for the requirements of SANS-0108 Class 1, Division 1.
The motor can be operated from a normal 220-240 Volt AC, single phase, 15 amp electric mains supply, provided that the point of supply (electric socket) is not within the hazardous area (defined in SANS 087: Part VII 1972). The motor and connections comply with SANS 1031-1976 “Type E” – Apparatus for use in explosive gas atmosphere.
The intrinsically safe control module and switches are certified by the Government Mining Engineer to meet SANS-314-1971.
